Preserved Roses – one of the most exciting new flower products we have seen have finally arrived in our gorgeous shop at Mt Hawthorn – real roses that have been preserved and will last for 12 months or longer!
Now at first we were sceptical about these. Then we saw them and felt them in real life, and the decision to start stocking them was easy!
An infusion of special oils replaces the rose’s natural water content, defying the ageing process to to produce blooms that stay miraculously fresh for months.
The substances used in the preservation process are non-toxic, non-corrosive, non-carcinogenic and non-chemical reactive.
The solutions and colorants are the same as those used in food, medical and textile manufacturing – posing no health or environmental risk. What’s more the technique removes pollen and strong scents, making it gentle on sensitive or allergy prone noses.
By following the proper care guidelines – not getting them wet, or having them exposed to sun or windy areas, or chemicals on your hands they should last for a year.
So really it ends up being quite a cost effective purchase!
